The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Project Engineer (Aerospace/ Defense) to join our team. The Technical Project Engineer (Aerospace/ Defense) will support the management of projects from start to finish with high quality output. They will assist with initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing projects effectively within schedule and cost constraints and will collect and report on program status to relevant stakeholders. The Technical Project Engineer (Aerospace/ Defense) will be cross functional and capable of performing design and manufacturing tasks in support of project goals. 

The Technical Project Engineer will:

  • Work within a fully integrated manufacturing process and product design team
  • Develop discrepancy free processes by improving work instructions, design intent, and process techniques through data driven statistical analysis of the current process, in support of full PPAP verification.
  • Work with the WI quality organization to improve the PPAP process by implementing lessons learned across the enterprise.
  • Work to ensure on time product qualification:
    • By addressing customer questions regarding product manufacture through development of the MMA (Manufacturing Maturity Assessment) process.
    • Develop qualification plans and reports with input from internal and external stake holders
  • Work closely with Project Leadership to maintain schedule and scope
  • Requires a flexible individual looking for cross functional opportunities that will expand their knowledge and proficiency in manufacturing process development, product qualification, design, and product testing all from a project and system perspective.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace preferred)
  • Practical project and engineering design, manufacturing, test, and analysis job knowledge and skills gained with a minimum of 5 years of prior related work experience
  • Highly motivated and organized individual who is approachable, a natural planner and a decision maker  
  • The ability to summarize and present the critical elements of a program, as well as its current status and future plans, is essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency using NX with Teamcenter
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with program management software; Microsoft Project
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)
  • U. S. citizenship is required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S. Preferred Qualifications

  •  Experience in product development with core proficiency in either manufacturing process design, product definition and design, or product test
  •  Experience as a customer interface
  •  Experience with PPAP or statistics or product quality
  •  Experience with DOD programs
  •  Secret Clearance
