The Parts Engineer will support the selection, application, qualification, control, and lifecycle, management of electrical, electronic, electromechanical (EEE), and process parts used in mission-critical flight hardware. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering organization, the Level 3 Parts Engineer will perform parts engineering analyses, evaluate component and material selections, support program parts control activities, and help identify and mitigate parts-related technical and supply-chain risks. The successful candidate will work closely with design engineering, systems engineering, reliability, quality, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, and suppliers to ensure parts meet program requirements for performance, reliability, environmental suitability, quality, availability, and mission assurance.

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Conducts or participates in the selection, evaluation, qualification, testing and failure analysis of Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical and Electro-optical (EEEE) Components. Plans, directs, reviews and coordinates the preparation of project documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met. Prepares EEEE Component Source Control Drawings (SCDs), evaluates vendors and analyzes EEEE Component test reports.

The Component Engineer is responsible for the oversight of Subcontractor EEEE Components, generating/reviewing/approving Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs) at Parts, Materials and Process Control Board (PMPCB) meetings, reviewing and approving engineering drawings and SCDs, participating/leading PMP issue resolutions and assisting/leading failure analysis under the EEEE Components domain. Basic Qualifications Experience in parts engineering, component engineering, materials engineering, reliability engineering, or a related aerospace/defense discipline. Experience evaluating engineering components, materials, or parts for high-reliability applications.

Working knowledge of EEE and/or mechanical parts and materials. Ability to interpret technical specifications, manufacturer data, qualification reports, and engineering requirements. Ability/willingness to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance; US Citizenship required -no clearance required to start Desired Skills Experience supporting space, missile, missile defense, or other defense programs.

Experience with flight-qualified or mission-critical electronic components. Familiarity with semiconductor devices, integrated circuits, FPGAs, processors, memory, capacitors, resistors, connectors, relays, sensors, or other EEE components. Experience with mechanical parts, fasteners, adhesives, coatings, lubricants, materials, and processes used in aerospace systems.

Familiarity with radiation effects and radiation assurance. Experience with parts derating, screening, qualification, lot acceptance, or failure analysis. Familiarity with DMSMS and component obsolescence management.

Experience evaluating alternate or replacement components. Familiarity with applicable MIL, NASA, JEDEC, SAE, ASTM, or customer-specific requirements. Experience reviewing supplier technical data or interacting with component manufacturers.

Familiarity with reliability prediction, failure-rate data, parts stress analysis, or mission assurance. Experience supporting environmental or qualification testing. Experience with engineering configuration management and change-control processes.

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
