About the Role
We are seeking a visionary Senior Aerodynamic Engineer to join our engineering team as a technical leader and mentor. In this role, you will act as our internal Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading the design of critical gas path and fluid system components for advanced gas turbine technologies. You will bridge the gap between complex physics and practical application, executing high-fidelity CFD simulations while developing the tools and the talent needed to push our turbomachinery performance forward.
If you are an expert in fluid dynamics who loves solving complex aerodynamic challenges and raising up the next generation of engineers, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead Gas Path Design: Spearhead major design and optimization activities for gas path components and complex fluid systems.
● Advanced Simulation & Analysis: Execute high-fidelity CFD and numerical computing activities to validate, refine, and predict component performance.
● Technical Mentorship: Actively mentor, guide, and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
● Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the organization's technical authority on aerodynamics, turbomachinery design, and thermal-fluid systems.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education
● Minimum: Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
● Preferred: Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
Experience Tracks
We recognize multiple pathways to technical mastery. Candidates must meet one of the following experience baselines:
● Bachelor's Track: 15+ years working as a Mechanical/Aerospace engineer heavily involved in turbomachinery design.
● Master's Track: An M.A.Sc. combined with 13+ years of industrial working experience as a Mechanical/Aerospace engineer.
● Ph.D. Track: A Ph.D. specializing in turbomachinery combined with 10+ years of industrial working experience as a Mechanical/Aerospace engineer.
Core Technical Experience
● Simulation Mastery: 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in CFD and heat transfer modeling.
● Systems Modeling: 2+ years of experience in the performance modeling of fluid power systems or combustion systems desirable.
● Desirable Asset: Prior exposure to Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) or aeroelasticity is a major plus.
Technical Skill Requirements
● Core Physics: Advanced, deep-rooted knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
● Computational Methods: A detailed, foundational understanding of CFD principles and numerical methods.
● CAD Tools: Proficiency with standard 2D/3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER, or equivalent).
● Technical Computing (Preferred): Strong proficiency in software development and coding for technical applications, specifically using:
