Job Summary:

ALiftMechanic IIat Homewood Mountain Resortis responsible formaintaining, repairing, and ensuring the safe operation of all aerial and surface lifts acrosstheresort. This role involves a wide range of technical tasks, including mechanical repairs, electrical diagnostics, welding, andcomponentreplacement, all performed in compliance with ANSI standards. Technicians must safely access job sites using various vehicles and work collaboratively to minimize lift downtime whilemaintainingstrict safety practices. The position also requires working in challenging mountain conditions, performing daily inspections, andmaintainingaccuratedocumentation to ensure lifts are safe and operational for guests.

Duties &Responsibilities:

  • Perform site-specific lift maintenance tasks, including sheave repair/replacement and electrical diagnosis (high and low voltage)

  • Repair, remove, and service lift components (bull wheels, sheave assemblies, motors, gearboxes, clutches, chairs)

  • Conduct haul rope repairs, welding, and fabrication as needed

  • Follow manufacturer guidelines, engineer direction, insurance requirements, and ANSI B77 compliance procedures

  • Ensure lifts, structures, and surrounding areas meet safety standards during operation

  • Clear snow from critical lift components (bull wheels, towers, walkways, assemblies up to 50 ft)

  • Maintainaccurate, legally required maintenance records

  • Work in challenging conditions (steep terrain, deep snow)

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-8 years of lift maintenance experience; capable of performing all LMT1 duties

  • Comprehensive understanding of lift systems, including rebuilding and servicing line gear

  • Accurately completes monthly lift inspections andrequireddocumentationin a timely manner

  • Able toidentifyand gatherappropriate toolsfor most maintenance tasks

  • Proficient in safe rigging of towers and line gear, with the ability to adjust methods based on load and conditions

  • Capable of leading lift evacuations (including APU mode) and safely unloading passengers during failures

  • Contributes to task planning, including setting priorities,identifyingrequired parts, and estimating staffing needs

  • Trains team members in rescue procedures, including fallen worker recovery and safe tower work practices

  • Knowledgeable in safely handling and troubleshooting electrical systems ranging from 110V AC to low-voltage DC

  • Produces clear,accurate, and detailed documentation; proficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and PLC interfacing

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving recordrequired

  • Preferred qualifications: OSHA certification, NDT certification, and welding credentials

  • Professional demeanor with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficiencywith computer systems, communication platforms, and reservation tools.

  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to stay calm and focused during thebusiest oftimes.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English;additionallanguages preferred.

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
