The Project Leader for Science & Technology Market is a dynamic leader in the organization with many external and internal responsibilities. Taylor Design's Project Leader's function as the primary source of client relationships. The Project Leader's primary responsibility is project profitability, growth, and sales. This is achieved by developing and directing a portfolio of projects, while nurturing and managing multiple client and team relationships. The Project Leader demonstrates a high level of effectiveness leading, mentoring and managing the team, and successfully collaborates with other Project and Office Leaders to ensure that enterprise resources are appropriately utilized and balanced.
What you will do:
  • Oversee and lead a group of Project Managers to effectively establish revenue targets, sales, and manage the resulting book of business to maximize profitability for the firm.
  • Develop and maintain a network of past and current clients and industry partners.
  • Help to grow Taylor Design's Science & Technology market.
  • Provide leadership by interacting with clients, staff and consultants advocating for excellence in design.
  • Assist Project Managers in the establishment of mutually acceptable contracts with clients, and execute contracts where applicable within the policies established by the firm.
  • Communicate with staff to manage their expectations and to foster their personal development, and lead as an influential voice at Taylor Design.
  • Build staff capabilities through professional development programs, goal-setting meetings, and mentoring designed to improve technical, management, professional, and communication skills of staff.
  • Successfully work with agencies having jurisdiction over projects (local inspectors, OSHPD, etc.) and have an understanding of codes and requirements.
  • Involvement in industry societies, professional groups or organizations in your market sector.

What you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of related experience in management and leadership roles within AEC.
  • Experience in Business Development including full involvement in proposals and interviews, as well as strong knowledge of industry and market sector trends.
  • Client relationship and project management skills, combined with a positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of AEC project accounting, people management, data interpretation, business and contract risks, and marketing principles.
  • Experience with varied forms of project delivery and contracting including IPD and Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build.
  • Flexible problem-solving skills through analytical, evaluative, and constructive thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills.
