Greater Phoenix Chamber | Phoenix, Arizona | Hybrid

  • REPORTS TO President & CEO
  • SALARY $147,000โ€“$167,000
  • SCHEDULE Full time
  • TRAVEL Occasional local
Help Shape the Future of One of Americaโ€™s Most Dynamic Business Regions

The Greater Phoenix Chamber is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Vice President, Finance, Treasury & Operations to join its senior leadership team and help guide the continued growth and impact of one of Arizonaโ€™s most influential business organizations.

This is much more than a traditional finance leadership position.

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Vice President will serve as a strategic partner, trusted advisor, and organizational leader across both the Greater Phoenix Chamber and the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation. This leader will influence strategy, strengthen financial and operational performance, support growth initiatives, work closely with the Boards of Directors, and ensure both organizations have the infrastructure, talent, and resources needed to advance their missions.

The Opportunity

Greater Phoenix is one of the nationโ€™s fastest-growing and most economically dynamic regions. The Greater Phoenix Chamber plays an important role in that successโ€”bringing together business, government, education, and community leaders to strengthen the regional economy and workforce.

The Chamber advances regional prosperity through forward-thinking public policy, intentional economic growth, and the development of diverse, prepared talent. Its affiliated Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation convenes business, education, and community partners to strengthen college and career readiness, develop Arizonaโ€™s workforce, build healthier communities, and produce research that informs business and public policy.

What Youโ€™ll Lead
  • Serve as a strategic financial and operational advisor to the President & CEO and senior leadership team.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and multi-year financial strategy aligned with growth and impact goals.
  • Oversee treasury operations, liquidity forecasting, banking relationships, working capital, funds transfers, and intercompany funding.
  • Provide clear financial analysis and insights that help leadership make informed strategic decisions.
  • Serve as financial liaison to the Boards of Directors and Board committees, presenting critical financial matters clearly and effectively.
  • Strengthen financial reporting, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and organizational processes across both entities.
  • Lead the annual audit and manage relationships with external auditors and outsourced accounting partners.
  • Ensure financial systems and reporting meet the accounting requirements of both 501(c)(6) and 501(c)(3) organizations.
  • Partner with revenue-generating departments to support growth, new initiatives, and long-term organizational sustainability.
  • Lead the human resources function, including culture, performance management, compliance, and alignment of talent strategy with organizational priorities.
  • Manage and develop the Staff Accountant and Director of Talent while overseeing key external accounting and HR partners.
  • Create and improve operational systems that help the organization respond effectively to changing needs.
  • Represent the Chamber at programs and events and build relationships with members and community partners.
The Leader Weโ€™re Looking For

We are seeking a leader who combines financial expertise with strategic judgment, operational capability, and strong interpersonal skillsโ€”someone equally comfortable in the details of financial management and in the broader strategic conversations shaping the organization.

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in finance or accounting required; MBA, CPA, or related advanced degree highly preferred.
  • Seven or more years of progressive senior-level finance and/or operations leadership experience.
  • Strong expertise in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and operational leadership.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, compliance, and HR practices in a mission-driven organization.
  • Experience in a nonprofit, association, professional services, or similarly mission-focused environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with both 501(c)(6) and 501(c)(3) organizations is particularly valuable.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build trust with executives, employees, Board members, and external partners.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, challenging existing processes, and translating new ideas into action.

Most importantly, we are looking for a leader who is strategic but hands-on, financially disciplined but growth-oriented, and comfortable operating in an organization where relationships and mission matter as much as the numbers.

Why Join the Greater Phoenix Chamber?

Strategic influence. You will have a seat at the leadership table and a direct partnership with the President & CEO.

Broad leadership responsibility.Your impact will extend beyond finance into operations, people, systems, and organizational strategy.

Board exposure. You will work directly with influential business and community leaders serving on the Chamber and Foundation Boards.
