Job description


The Project Manager for Transportation works along the entire transport process chain in terms of new carrier and client implementation. Working with several stakeholders as carriers, clients, internal IT, account management and other functions, always with professional communication. Problem resolution and root cause analysis. Manage and support customer and carrier integration functions for shipping and transportation. This role is responsible for providing hands on support to the business and IT Teams during implementations and day-to-day business. Responsibility for transportation processes by assisting in testing and planning before go-live.
YOUR TASKS
  • As a transport project manager, you will independently and purposefully implement transport-related projects within Arvato
  • On the transport side, you are responsible for the implementation of global new customers and carriers in our transport management system SAP-TM in close cooperation with our IT
  • Check and understand customer and carrier requests/requirement to translate them into working packages for IT and other teams
  • You continuously analyze and optimize existing processes and ensure that our customers receive the best possible transport solution
  • You work on the further development and standardization of our project management processes and thus realize a high service quality
  • Validation and creation support of shipping documents (BOL, Carrier Label, Retailer Label)
  • Being the interface and first point of contact for carriers, IT, account management and other involved parties during implementation
  • Through professional project management, you act as a communicator between different stakeholders such as customers, carriers, IT and internal departments
  • Foster teamwork and trust across Arvato and customers

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of SAP WMS and TM modules (required)
  • Experience with carrier requirements (LTL, FTL, Small Parcel) and domestic & international shipping
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Self-motivated to work independently with minimum Supervision
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
  • Team Orientated
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience in the transport or logistics environment and knowledge of TMS systems
  • High IT affinity and initial experience with intelligent and IT-supported transport solutions
