Senior Camp Counselor - Lake in the Woods Sleepaway Camp


Join our vibrant team at Lake in the Woods Sleepaway Camp as a Senior Camp Counselor, where you will play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment for our campers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead activities, mentor younger staff, and contribute to memorable summer experiences for children and teens. We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and dedicated individuals who are passionate about working with youth and fostering a positive camp community.


Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and supervise campers during daily activities, ensuring their safety and engagement

- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational and educational activities

- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and good communication

- Assist in the development and implementation of camp programs and schedules

- Support junior staff and volunteers, providing guidance and mentorship

- Enforce camp rules and safety protocols consistently and effectively

- Address camper concerns and resolve conflicts in a respectful and constructive manner

- Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive camp environment


Skills and Qualifications:

- Previous experience working with children or in a camp setting preferred

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

- Responsible, reliable, and able to handle multiple tasks

- First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

- Enthusiastic, energetic, and committed to creating a positive camper experience

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
