Torch Technologies is seeking a Missile Flight Test Planning Engineer to join our team to support the Missile Defense Agency Test Resources Directorate. This role supports flight test planning, test resource integration, range coordination, and mission execution activities for complex space and missile defense test operations.

As a Missile Flight Test Planning Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with resource planning, architecture development, and execution of flight tests supporting MDA flight test missions

  • Perform assessments of instrumentation, launch and test support equipment, test ranges, safety systems, and test countdown documentation to determine readiness and capability.

  • Support development of test, range, and auxiliary sensor requirements and ensure documentation is captured within the Universal Documentation System (UDS).

  • Develop test resource architectures to support mission objectives and customer requirements.

  • Identify and coordinate resolution of test resource conflicts involving flight test schedules, range assets, telemetry coverage, radar systems, communications systems, and GPS-based instrumentation.

  • Prepare schedules and coordinate deconfliction activities with internal and external government agencies and stakeholders.

  • Assist with planning meetings, technical working groups, and coordination activities supporting flight test execution.

  • Prepare technical briefings, status updates, and documentation for formal reviews and special topics.

  • Coordinate with analysts to support telemetry link margin analysis (LMA) activities and ensure adequate telemetry coverage during test events.

  • Support test planning, integration, execution, verification, and analysis activities across all phases of program development.

  • Travel to test ranges and operational locations in support of flight test activities as required.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be substituted

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in test engineering, systems engineering, flight test, missile defense, or aerospace operations OR

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be substituted

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in test engineering, systems engineering, flight test, missile defense, or aerospace operations

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in test engineering, systems engineering, flight test, missile defense, or aerospace operations

  • Active DoW Secret security clearance required (must be able to maintain)

  • Experience supporting developmental or operational test programs for complex systems

  • Experience supporting planning, acquisition, monitoring, and implementation activities for technical programs

  • Strong analytical, systems analysis, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience supporting test planning, integration, execution, and mission analysis activities

  • Ability to adapt and develop analytical techniques and processes for technical and operational support efforts

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience supporting concept development, integration, testing, verification, or readiness activities for defense or aerospace systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoW, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Space Force, or aerospace programs

  • Familiarity with flight test operations, telemetry systems, range instrumentation, and test resource management

  • Experience supporting test readiness reviews, technical working groups, or mission planning activities

  • Strong technical documentation, briefing, and reporting experience

  • Experience working with Universal Documentation System (UDS), telemetry analysis, or range scheduling activities

  • Familiarity with systems engineering, mission integration, or operational test and evaluation processes

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or related field
