Job Title(s): AMI Operations Specialist 2, 3, and Senior

Location: Merrillville, IN

Hybrid Schedule: Onsite Tuesday - Thursday

Job Summary

NiSource is seeking an AMI Operations Specialist to support the performance, reliability, and optimization of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems. This roleis responsible formonitoring AMI network and meter performance, analyzing system data, resolving operational issues, supporting system enhancements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensureaccurateand reliable meter communications and customer operations.

**This position may be filled at the Specialist II, Specialist III, or Senior Specialist level based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze AMI system performance, network communications, meter read delivery, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Investigate and resolve AMI alerts, alarms, no-read conditions, data exceptions, and communication issues.

  • Support software, firmware, and system upgrades, including testing and validation activities.

  • Partner with field operations, customer service, billing, outage management, and other stakeholders toidentifyand resolve operational issues.

  • Monitor and analyze system reports, device performance, GIS data, and equipment trends to improve operational effectiveness

  • Utilize reporting and analytics tools toidentifytrends and recommend process improvements.

  • Coordinateissueescalation and support the resolution of meter, network, and communication-related concerns.

Minimum Qualifications

AMI Operations Specialist2:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in utility operations, customer operations, information technology, metering, ora related field.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Salary range: $82,200.00 - 123,200.00 USD Annual

AMI Operations Specialist3:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in utility operations, customer operations, information technology, metering, ora related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex operational issues andprovidetechnical guidance.

  • Salary range: $96,600.00 - 144,900.00 USD Annual

AMI Operations Specialist Senior:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of experience in utility operations, customer operations, information technology, metering, ora relatedfield.

  • Recognized technicalexpertisein AMI operations and the ability to lead complex initiatives and cross-functional problem solving.

  • Salary range: $113,500.00 - 170,300.00 USD Annual

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems.

  • Experience with utility meter-to-cash processes and customer operations.

  • Knowledge of RF, cellular, fiber, or other communications network technologies.

  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms.

  • Experience working with utility customer information systems (CIS).
