Job Summary:

The Production Technician I is responsible for manufacturing test kits on the production floor and in clean room environments, as well as assembling instruments and subassemblies. This role requires the ability to read production work instructions, drawings, routings, and bills of material to assemble electrical and mechanical products in accordance with established procedures. The Production Technician I performs product testing, maintains quality standards, documents production and quality issues, and supports continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret production work instructions, assembly drawings, routings, and bills of material.
  • Assemble electrical and mechanical components and finished products according to work orders and manufacturing procedures.
  • Assemble and test units in accordance with work instructions and quality requirements.
  • Operate automation, filling, labeling, and testing equipment and software as required.
  • Safely use hand tools including screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets, wire cutters, cordless screwdrivers, and crimpers.
  • Prepare units for final quality inspection according to established policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine cycle counts within designated work areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
  • Document production or quality issues using appropriate procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to production processes and manufacturing methodologies.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

  • One to three years of production assembly experience.
  • Experience assembling mechanical and electrical products preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and work instructions.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to perform ERP transactions and accurately complete production documentation.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, accountability, and willingness to learn.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and carry up to [2550] pounds as required.
  • Comfort with performing repetitive physical tasks.
  • Able to bend, reach, stoop, or climb as needed.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., noise, temperature, equipment).
