Job Title: European Portuguese Instructor Job Category: Language Services Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI with Polygraph Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: None Type of Travel: None * * * The Opportunity: CACI is seeking a skilled European Portuguese Instructor to support a high-priority customer mission. These are full-time in-person positions requiring both teaching and language assessment responsibilities. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated strong adult teaching experience. Candidates must be passionate about language instruction, experienced in adult education, and capable of adapting materials to meet customized learning needs. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required for this role. However, we are able to sponsor the clearance process for candidates who successfully pass the required language assessments. Responsibilities: * Provide in-person instruction to advanced-level adult students (ILR 2-3).
* Apply both linguistic expertise and teaching skills to support critical mission requirements.
* Summarize, gist, translate, triage, and perform quality control or editing of foreign-language materials into accurate, professional American English.
* Deliver instruction that incorporates cultural, regional, and geopolitical context relevant to the target language.
* Maintain instructional excellence and adapt teaching materials to meet learner needs. Qualifications: Required: * Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph.
* Bachelor's degree from a U.S. institution or from an institution in the country where the target language is spoken. Must have a minimum of 5+ years of direct adult teaching experience; or 7-10 years of relevant experience; or a master's degree with 6-8 years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
* Ability to pass an advanced English proficiency translation assessment at a level 4 or higher (Senior Level)
* Ability to achieve ILR Level 5/5/5 in speaking, listening, and reading in the target language.
* Strong understanding of geopolitical, cultural, regional, and ethnic dynamics of the relevant language areas.
* Proficient with MS Office and skilled in online research. Desired: * Familiarity with one or more regional dialects.
* Experience in consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation. This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.
