Locations: Woodlands - Sterling Ridge, and Woodlands - Town Center

Position Summary

Provides care to patients acting/following established standards and practices. Provides diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive healthcare services for Allergy and ENT Patients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.
  • Contributes to a physicianโ€™s efficiency by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
  • Recommends options and courses of action for patient care.
  • Implements physician directives.
  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examination including obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
  • Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and laboratory studies and interpreting test results.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations, suturing, and managing wounds and infections.
  • Instructs and counsels patients by providing normal growth and development information and providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living.
  • Provides community of care by developing and implementing patient-management plans.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; and enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Develops health care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experimental growth opportunities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate of accredited PA school and/or Licensed by Texas Board of Nursing as Advanced Practice RN
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current active licensure/Certification to practice as a PA/NP in the State of Texas
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of professional theory, practice, and medical care to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques to provide ongoing patient care. Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients. Knowledge of patient education principles to develop self-care programs. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency work situations. Ability to communicate clearly.

Physical Demands: Tasks and expectations may vary by clinical site and medical practice. Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner. May be exposed to acutely ill patients, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, and airborne allergens used during skin testing and immunotherapy.

Work Environment: Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor clinic office setting with adequate ventilation; Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic) Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with regular working hours; Occasional Saturdayโ€™s and/ or travel to other clinics may be required.
