Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment in Portland, Maine

Overview

This 13-week travel nursing assignment is ideal for an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse who thrives in a dynamic surgical setting. You’ll use strong clinical skills, adaptability, and a team-first mindset to support a busy OR with advanced surgical technology and a wide variety of procedures.

  • End Date: 11/9/2026
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts
  • Schedule: Day coverage beginning around 7:00 AM
  • Weekend Requirement: 1:4 weekends
  • Call Requirement: One overnight trauma call (11:00 PM–7:00 AM); specialty call may follow team-specific guidelines
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,620–$2,760
  • Unit Highlights: 26-bed surgical environment with 1:1 patient ratios
  • Technology & Equipment: Epic EMR; Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robot systems
Job Requirements
  • Current RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience, including travel experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of Level 1 trauma experience
  • CNOR preferred
  • Strong flexibility, accountability, timeliness, and teamwork skills
  • Preferred experience in general surgery, GU/GYN, ortho trauma, ortho joints, neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, plastics, dental, and endovascular procedures
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical environment with advanced technology
Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in the Operating Room
  • Support a variety of surgical services and specialty procedures
  • Prepare the OR environment, surgical supplies, and equipment for cases
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative team members
  • Assist with trauma coverage and overnight call responsibilities as assigned
  • Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR
  • Maintain a professional, patient-focused presence throughout each shift
