School-Based Physical Therapist Opportunity

Take the next step in your physical therapy career by contributing your expertise to a vibrant educational community in central Maryland. This contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to support students aged 3-21 in a school-based environment, providing care that makes a lasting difference. The assignment is year-round, including participation in a four-week Extended School Year program during the summer, providing continuity for those you serve.

As a school-based physical therapist, you will:

  • Hold a current Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners license
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of sensory-motor development and musculoskeletal assessment
  • Demonstrate proficiency in evaluative and therapeutic techniques for individuals with multiple disabilities
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of adaptive equipment, orthotics, wheelchairs, and assistive devices for children and young adults
  • School-based and pediatric therapy experience is highly valued
  • Deliver therapy services to students aged 3-21 as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team
  • Provide consults and training, including some early morning and evening sessions
  • Utilize evidence-based approaches to help students develop or regain functional mobility and independence
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to foster optimal outcomes
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with professional standards and school policies
  • Adapt to a varied caseload, which will be discussed in detail during the interview process
