What You'll Do!

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Retail Store Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Connecticut retail dispensary. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, exceptional leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of cannabis regulations. This role requires an individual who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service, ensuring compliance, and leading a team to achieve sales goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all daily operations, ensuring the dispensary runs efficiently and in compliance with state and local cannabis regulations. Manage inventory, monitor product availability, and maintain store cleanliness.
  • Lead by example in providing outstanding customer service. Ensure all staff members engage with customers in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner, while ensuring they understand product offerings and answer any questions.
  • Hire, train, and develop a team of budtenders and other store personnel. Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and implement ongoing development to ensure team members excel in customer service, sales, and compliance.
  • Develop and manage staff scheduling for our CT retail location to ensure proper floor coverage, meet business demand, and support a high-quality customer experience.
  • Manage labor planning and staffing levels by monitoring and adjusting FTE (full-time equivalent) allocation to maintain operational efficiency and align with store performance goals.
  • Track and report payroll KPIs, ensuring accurate labor usage, effective scheduling practices, and adherence to payroll budgets while minimizing overtime and controlling costs.
  • Drive sales performance by developing strategies to meet revenue targets. Analyze sales reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and adjust strategies to maximize profitability. Implement promotional and marketing strategies to boost customer acquisition and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal cannabis regulations. Maintain accurate records and ensure all necessary documentation is completed, including customer transactions, inventory, and employee compliance checks. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies,
  • Oversee store displays, ensuring products are well-organized and presented attractively to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
  • Maintain a secure and safe store environment for both employees and customers. Implement safety procedures and security measures, including cash handling and surveillance protocols.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, grocery, or service industry required.
  • Willing to travel between stores
  • Experience working in the cannabis industry desired.
  • Ability to create and maintain a customer-focused culture.
  • Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, make decisions independently, and maintain order during times of high stress while adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Proficient in office management systems and MS Office applications.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to positively influence people at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on process optimization.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, as the position involves being on your feet for most of the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds of products, boxes, or supplies, and assist with inventory
  • management and restocking.
  • Must be able to reach, bend, and squat to access products on shelves, display cases, or storage areas, both at ground level and higher shelves.
  • Ability to handle cash, credit card transactions, and inventory products with precision. You'll also need to be able to open and close containers or packaging, label products, and operate a point of-sale system.
  • Occasional use of ladders or step stools may be required to access products on high shelves.
  • Must be able to walk around the dispensary, assisting customers, checking inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Must have good vision to accurately read labels, process transactions, and ensure product details are clear. Good hearing is necessary for communication with customers and team members in a busy environment.
