Job description

SBG Atlanta is hiring a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coach to deliver high-quality instruction in a professional, team-oriented gym. This role is ideal for an experienced coach who values technical excellence, safety, and a positive training culture.

Compensation:

$30 - $50 hourly


Responsibilities:

  • Lead BJJ classes for both our Kids Program and Adult Program (beginner to advanced)

  • Follow SBG Atlanta's curriculum and coaching standards across both programs

  • Design and deliver age-appropriate curriculum for youth students — focused on technique, discipline, focus, and confidence-building

  • Teach technique, drilling, positional sparring, and live rolling for adult classes

  • Provide individual feedback and track student progression, including belt promotions

  • Build relationships with kids' parents to keep families engaged and informed

  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive training environment for all ages

  • Assist with competition preparation as needed


Qualifications:

Required

  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt preferred (Brown Belt with strong coaching experience considered)

  • Previous experience coaching group classes, ideally including kids/youth

  • Strong communication and instructional skills — able to adapt teaching style for different ages

  • Professional, reliable, and punctual

  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Background check required (role involves working with minors)

Preferred

  • Competition experience

  • Experience teaching fundamentals or structured curricula for youth

  • Alignment with SBG training philosophy and values
