AJ’s Safe Place is looking for an experienced DTA Program Supervisor who knows how to successfully lead an adult developmental-disabilities day program.

This position is designed for someone who already has strong experience in DTA services, developmental disabilities, behavioral health, special education, or another structured day-program environment and is ready to take ownership of daily program operations.

We are specifically looking for someone with experience in:

  • Supervising and training DSPs
  • Managing a DTA or adult day-program floor
  • Arizona DDD services and expectations
  • ISP goals and member programming

  • Incident reporting and documentation
  • Medication and member-safety procedures
  • Community outings and transportation coordination
  • Staff scheduling and daily assignments
  • Preparing for DDD monitoring visits and inspections
  • Coaching, redirecting, and holding staff accountable
  • Communicating with families, Support Coordinators, and management

What You Will Lead

The DTA Program Supervisor is responsible for making sure the program runs safely, professionally, and consistently every day.

You will:

  • Direct and supervise the DTA team

  • Assign staff according to member ratios and needs
  • Make sure members are actively participating in meaningful programming
  • Train and develop new and existing DSPs
  • Observe staff performance and provide immediate coaching
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completion
  • Ensure ISP goals and behavior plans are being followed
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and member-safety concerns
  • Maintain an organized and inspection-ready program
  • Help develop activities, community integration, life-skills programming, and structured daily schedules
  • Work closely with program leadership to continually improve the DTA

Who We Want

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced. Organized. Confident. Kind but firm.

You should be able to walk into a busy DTA, quickly assess what needs attention, organize your team, delegate responsibilities, solve problems, and keep member safety first.

We are especially interested in candidates who have previously held titles such as:

  • DTA Program Supervisor
  • DTA Team Lead
  • Day Program Supervisor
  • Adult Day Program Manager

  • Dependable attendance and leadership presence

Candidates must be able to meet applicable Arizona DDD employment, background-check, certification, and training requirements.

This is not an entry-level Lead DSP position.

We are looking for someone who has already developed strong leadership skills and can help us build, organize, and strengthen an exceptional DTA program.
