Vortex Optics is looking for a full-stack Developer that is proficient in both front-end and back-end development and is passionate about using technology to create a rare experience for our customers. With a strong focus on the customer experience, this role will partner with a variety of business and technical teams to establish standards, create processes and develop informational and transactional web applications. 


This is a full-time onsite position located in Barneveld, WI with relocation assistance available. A hybrid work schedule will be considered, but candidates must be available to work onsite certain days per week.  


What You'll Be Doing

  • Work on Adobe Commerce's frontend including theme development, design adjustments, and user interface enhancements
  • Design and implement custom features, modules, and extensions based on project needs
  • Integrate and customize third-party plugins to meet specific client requirements
  • Implement seamless integrations with third-party platforms such as ERP, CRM, payment gateways, and other systems
  • Partner closely with various teams to establish and enforce UX and technical standards
  • Actively participate in team code reviews to facilitate best practices
  • Integrate data from various back-end services, applications, and databases
  • Evaluate project requirements and work collaboratively with team to develop technical solutions and recommendations
  • Test and debug code to identify and resolve issues
  • Implement testing tools and procedures to maintain performance and cross-browser compatibility
  • Perform security updates, patches, and framework upgrades to comply with industry standards and company policies
  • Stay current with technology and best practices and, if applicable, leverage that knowledge to improve the Vortex applications
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Degree or certification in web development or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in developing business-oriented websites
  • A minimum 3 years' experience hands on development with Adobe Commerce or other eCommerce/CMS platforms
  • Hands on experience with development languages, including HTML. PHP, JavaScript, CSS LESS
  • Hands on experience with development tools and platforms (jQuery, NGINX, AWS, Linux)
  • Good understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably with exposure to Agile
  • A history of collaborating with team members and business partners to provide new ideas, insights and best practices
  • Experience with GIT workflows and continuous improvement cycles
  • Extensive product catalog knowledge with multiple types of products, including custom builds
