They are usually hired on a contractual basis and may teach one or more classes per semester, often without the full benefits provided to full-time professors. Their primary responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, delivering lectures, grading assignments, and assisting students with course material. Adjunct instructors bring expertise from academia or industry, offering students diverse perspectives. This role is ideal for professionals seeking flexible teaching opportunities or supplementing their primary careers.

To thrive as an Adjunct Math Instructor, you need a solid background in mathematics, strong instructional skills, and at least a master's degree in mathematics or a related field. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Blackboard, and proficiency in mathematical software like MATLAB or GeoGebra, are often required.
