JOB DESCRIPTION
- ADJUNCT, RESIDENTIAL

The College of Health Sciences at Oral Roberts University is currently seeking applications for adjunct faculty in Healthcare Administration. This would be an ideal position for a Healthcare Administration professional. Adjunct faculty will teach in the residential undergraduate Healthcare Administration program course. These 3-credit courses provide introductory level education to new healthcare administration students. Desire is to map strengths with courses taught in program. It is imperative that candidates demonstrate a Spirit-Empowered Christian commitment and are compatible with the university's honor code of conduct.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach at the undergraduate level in both face-to-face and virtual modalities but could eventually include graduate courses.
  • Participating in ongoing development, assessment and improvement activities
  • Maintaining the quality and integrity of the program
  • Responsibility for teaching classes in the program
  • Provide instruction with the focus on teaching and learning to help assure students successfully meet all course outcomes and classroom objectives.
  • Participate in professional development activities that develop and enhance teaching and facilitation skills.
  • Participate in campus wide initiatives in support of recruitment, retention and graduation goal attainment including but not limited to, monitoring, adjusting (when needed), and assessing classroom program retention/graduation and meeting with program advisors on a regular basis to discuss student performance and academic concerns.
  • Fulfill all administrative duties related to instructional responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS

Preferred Experience:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in diverse academic programs
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience at the college/university level
  • Commitment to undergraduate education and student success
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
  • A focus on student-centered pedagogy, integration of technology in instruction, the ability to engage with industry in the classroom are highly desired.

Essential Experience:

  • Master's, DHA or Ph.D. in Healthcare Administration or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in healthcare practice, evaluation and/or research
  • Familiarity with the healthcare landscape
