Position Overview:

Part-time Arts & Science Faculty are responsible for facilitating learning and learner development; using assessment and evaluation strategies; participating in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; evaluating program outcomes; developing and functioning as a leader and change agent; and functioning within the educational environment. This role must be fulfilled in accordance with rules and regulations of the state and federal regulatory and accrediting bodies.

What you will do in this role:

  • Creates an environment that facilitates studentsโ€™ learning and achievement of desired student learning and program outcomes.ย 
  • Implements a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs, desired learner outcomes, content, and context.ย 
  • Uses teaching strategies based on educational theory and evidence-based practice.ย 
  • Uses information technologies to support the teaching-learning process.ย 
  • Provides resources to students that help meet their individual learning needs.ย 
  • Helps students develop as professionals and integrate the values and behaviors expected of those who fulfill that role.ย 
  • Serves as a role model.ย 
  • Uses a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate student learning in all settings (classroom or lab) and all domains (cognitive, psychomotor, and affective) of learning.ย 
  • Provides timely, constructive, and thoughtful written/verbal feedback to students regarding course performance and progress toward the achievement of learning outcomes.ย 
  • Provides input into the use of teaching strategies and evaluation methods.

What qualificationsย you will need:

Education: Masterโ€™s degree in subject area or a Masterโ€™s Degree and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in subject area.ย 

Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Physical demands in classroom and office are minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as records, files, and books (10 pounds maximum). Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, classroom projector, Scantron, and printer/scanner, occurs on a frequent basis. Physical demands in the clinical area may include lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, stooping, crouching and bending or any other related activity to patient care. Position requires regular attendance, and may require evening or weekend hours and travel to clinical sites and extended classrooms.ย
