Technical Service Representative- Adhesive Applications

Jowat is a leading provider of woodworking adhesives, committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service to our customers. We are seeking a skilled Technical Service Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking and adhesives, with the ability to provide technical support and guidance to customers, troubleshoot adhesive-related issues, and contribute to product development initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to customers regarding the selection, application, and troubleshooting of woodworking adhesives.
  • Conduct on-site visits to customer facilities to assess adhesive application processes, troubleshoot issues, and provide training as needed.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate adhesive solutions.
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation, including application guides, troubleshooting manuals, and product data sheets.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers and internal staff.
  • Collect and analyze data on adhesive performance and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and drive product development initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to woodworking adhesives.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to address customer needs and resolve technical issues.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to promote our products and services.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, technical inquiries, and product evaluations.

Our Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Wood Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical support or a related role, preferably in the woodworking or adhesives industry.
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking processes and adhesive technologies, including hot melts, water-based adhesives, and structural adhesives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot adhesive-related issues in a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed (approximately 20 - 30% travel).
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
