The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries is recruiting

for an Application Developer 1/2/3 located in Juneau, Alaska!

What You Will Be Doing:

Develop, support, and maintain the various parts of the Fish Ticket System.

Assist fisheries’ staff in ensuring the quality of fish ticket data.

Day-to-day, you will primarily be working on individual projects or collaborating with the small team of developers working on the Fish Ticket and connected systems. Most user support will be in the form of email correspondence, instant messaging and voice/video calls as fisheries staff are located statewide.

A hybrid telework schedule may be an option after initial training.

Minimum Qualifications Application Developer 1

• Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: Uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
• Computers and Electronics: Knowledge of electric circuit boards, processors, chips, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Continual Learning: Assesses and recognizes own strengths and weaknesses; pursues self-development.
• Equivalent to those typically gained by: Training in computer programming or system analysis and/or experience using a computer for analysis (including experience in the use of computer reporting languages); providing software/hardware installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support to end-users; and/or direct computer programming.
• Special Note: A position may focus on working in one or more computer languages. Which language(s) will be specified when recruiting to fill the position.

• Equivalent to those typically gained by: Training in computer programming or system analysis and/or experience writing, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, or maintaining a computer program’s source code.
• Special Note: A position may focus on working in one or more computer languages. Which language(s) will be specified when recruiting to fill the position.
• “Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.
