Hope House Treatment Center is a non-profit dual diagnosis treatment center with locations in Crownsville and Laurel, Maryland. We are dedicated to providing men and women who are battling drug and alcohol addictions with the means to become healthy and productive citizens, equipped with the tools for a life of sobriety and recovery. We are staffed by a caring, experienced team of professionals that include addiction trained nurses, a physician, certified counselors, associate counselors, and treatment aides. We provide medical and nursing care twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Hope House Treatment Center is seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician to support projects, both exterior and interior.

JOB SUMMARY: The Facility Maintenance Technician will assist in various maintenance tasks and grounds keeping for the designated worksite. The Facility Maintenance Technician will work under the supervision of the Facilities Supervisor to ensure all building concerns and repairs are completed in a timely manner consistently with the organization’s clean and organized appearance.

 

FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN JOB DUTIES:

  • Coordinates on facility maintenance activities with the Facilities Supervisor
  • Performs basic maintenance and lawn care activities.
  • Identifies facility problems and reports needed repairs to Facilities Supervisor in a timely fashion. 
  • Responds to work orders in a timely manner.
  • Responds to items identified in monthly internal inspections in a timely manner.
  • Assists with weekly and/or monthly inspections of all equipment not requiring outside inspections to include but not limited to:
    • Fire Extinguishers
    • Vacuum Cleaners
    • Safety/Emergency Lighting
    • Plumbing
    • Fire Doors
    • Any other identified equipment
  • Records all maintenance activities in the facility maintenance log. Schedules regular maintenance as required. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 


 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 


  • Basic plumbing knowledge: ability to shut off water mains, unclog clogged plumbing, etc. 
  • Experience with basic hardware tools and electrical equipment, such as: screw drivers, channel locks, tape measures, hammers, levels.
  • Lawn care basics: Ability to operate a lawn mower, weed eater, leaf blower. 
  • Good communication ability
  • Willing to learn
  • Attention to detail
