Nelvana Psychological Center is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. This position is fully remote, offering you the flexibility to work from the comfort of your home while making a tangible impact on the lives of those we serve. Your work schedule will generally be Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with potential evening shifts depending on patient needs. • Conduct thorough and comprehensive assessments for individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders, identifying their unique goals and needs.
• Create customized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored for each patient.
• Deliver one-on-one counseling sessions utilizing motivational interviewing techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and other relevant modalities to facilitate patient engagement.
• Lead group therapy sessions focusing on various aspects of addiction recovery, encouraging patient interaction and support amongst peers.
• Work collaboratively with our psychiatrists, addiction medicine specialists, and the broader mental health team to provide integrated and coordinated care to patients.
• Provide urgent crisis intervention and support as needed during substance use emergencies.
• Educate both patients and their families about addiction challenges, effective recovery strategies, and available community resources.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient management.
• Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development, striving to stay informed about the latest advancements in substance use disorder treatment.

Your primary focus will revolve around individuals confronting substance use disorders, many of whom face complex psychological and emotional challenges. This role requires a deep understanding of the diverse backgrounds of patients, as well as their unique recovery journeys. You will be an essential figure on their path to healing, providing not only therapeutic support but also empathy and guidance as they navigate their recovery efforts.

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Possession of current and valid licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Washington.
• In-depth knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery models, including familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy within the context of addiction treatment is highly valued.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a non-judgmental and empathetic approach towards clients.
• A strong commitment to maintaining professional boundaries, ethical guidelines, and patient confidentiality at all times.
• Comfort and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, along with general computer proficiency.
• A collaborative spirit that thrives in a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Previous experience working in community health settings or addiction treatment programs.
• Advanced training or certifications in specialized therapeutic techniques relevant to substance use treatment.
• Familiarity with the challenges and resources unique to the Renton, Washington area.
