• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, evaluating students’ personal histories, presenting concerns, and risk factors to inform treatment planning.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on evidence-based practices to cater to varying student needs, aiming to enhance emotional well-being and academic success.
• Provide therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care, using proven methodologies to address the spectrum of mental health challenges.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at encouraging personal development, emotional regulation, and establishing healthy coping mechanisms.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners to ensure a holistic approach to student mental health care.
• Offer crisis intervention, employing de-escalation techniques and appropriate referrals for additional care in high-stress situations.
• Educate students and their families through psychoeducation, promoting a deeper understanding of mental health conditions and community resources available.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in professional development opportunities, staying informed about the latest regulations, ethical guidelines, and best practices in school-based mental health.

This role centers on supporting a diverse student population, addressing a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and trauma. Your expertise will enable students to navigate personal challenges and promote their overall academic and social success, enhancing their ability to integrate into the school community.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of Nevada.
• Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, ideally in a mental health or educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
• Expertise in conducting assessments and developing treatment plans tailored to the needs of students.
• Proficiency in delivering therapeutic sessions and employing various therapeutic approaches for optimal outcomes.
• Demonstrated crisis intervention skills, remaining calm in high-pressure situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a passion for building trust and rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Competence in electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer proficiency.
• Sound judgment and integrity in maintaining professional boundaries and ethics.

• Previous experience working directly with students in school settings, particularly in addressing mental health initiatives.
• Familiarity with local resources and community organizations that support student wellness and mental health.
• Experience in creating and implementing parent workshops on mental health awareness and resources.
