Job description

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides professional level skills required in the clinical practice of counseling, affording direct services to University Health patients. Works with the multidisciplinary team in evaluation and treatment planning for individuals and families. Offers a broad spectrum of professional counseling services to patients with a multiplicity of needs. Serves as a role model and clinical trainer for other staff, establishing priorities for self and peers, ensuring that services are rendered in a prompt, efficient manner. Actively supports the policies and procedures of University Health and the Mental Wellness Institute.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required. Two years of current experience in mental health and demonstrated level of clinical counseling skills indicative of ability to engage in self-regulated practice are required. Two years of experience in professional counseling are preferred. Bilingual in Spanish/English is desirable.

LICENSURE

Current state licensure by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council is required
