Addiction and Recovery Counseling, LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our remote treatment team in Smithtown, New York. As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our clients by fulfilling a range of crucial responsibilities:

• Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments to explore individual strengths, challenges, and treatment goals. Utilize your clinical expertise to identify and diagnose mental health disorders.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions, applying evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored for a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and interpersonal conflicts.
• Treatment Planning and Follow-Up: Collaboratively develop personalized treatment plans aligned with client-focused goals. Monitor progress and adjust interventions to foster continuous improvement.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to enable a cohesive approach to client care. Coordinate referrals and community resources as part of comprehensive treatment strategies.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely records of client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring adherence to ethical and legal guidelines pertaining to client confidentiality.
• Advocacy and Community Engagement: Actively advocate for clients’ rights to access mental health services, participating in outreach initiatives aimed at promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma.

Your primary responsibility will involve supporting a diverse group of clients, ranging from adolescents to older adults, who face various mental health challenges and addiction issues. By employing tailored therapeutic strategies, you will help clients foster resilience, develop coping mechanisms, and navigate their recovery journeys.

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
• Fully licensed to practice independently in New York as a:
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Clear of any disciplinary actions and not holding limited or provisional licenses.
• Strong clinical judgment and the capability to execute professional evaluations, treatment planning, and implementation.
• Exemplary interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to client interactions.
• Proficient in technology and familiar with telehealth platforms for remote client sessions.

While not mandatory, experience in community health settings and familiarity with addiction treatment modalities will be considered an asset. Candidates who have previously worked with clients facing dual diagnoses will be particularly advantageous.

This position offers a competitive annual salary within the range of USD 52,000 to 70,000, commensurate with experience and caseload. Benefits include:
