We are seeking a qualified Technical Product Manager to support our Advanced Safety Software and Systems group to extend our global reach through expert discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and product offerings. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development roadmap of our Advanced Safety products, including ADAS driving features (from L0 to L3), parking, mapping and localization as well as end-to-end, turnkey ADAS systems from the development stage until it's in the hands of customers. This is a new product organization that Aptiv has launched and you will be at the forefront of an industry transformation with cutting-edge technology. You will be responsible for bringing technical depth to the overall product vision and strategy through partnership with Product Management to create and execute the product roadmap, assess the market opportunity and resource requirements, and work closely with Product Marketing and Sales to drive commercial activities.

As a Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in bringing technical depth to our Advanced Safety products, delivering on Aptiv's software product strategy, adopting a strategic approach to break down barriers, and developing a deep understanding of customer's challenges. You'll build a network with customers and internal technical leads to develop strategic plans and product requirements to deliver value to customers across our Advanced Safety Software products.

Your Role:

  • Define technical requirements in collaboration with Engineering and ensure alignment with customer needs
  • Evaluate technical concepts currently in the market and define innovative solutions that drive differentiation
  • Help develop and manage product roadmaps, ensuring product milestones are met
  • Lead technical analysis and research to guide product development needs and foster innovation in product design and functionality
  • Support data-driven analyses required for product decisions, including requirements definition, use case prioritization, and value proposition

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Ownership: Serve as the expert within the product management team, guiding technical discussions, decisions, and product strategy for individual products
  • Financial alignment: Create and update robust product business case, including resourcing required and revenue potential, aligned to product roadmap under the guidance of senior team members
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including customers, Sales and Marketing, and Engineering to ensure product development aligns with customer and market needs
  • Executive Communication: Assist in preparation of product presentations used for executive management and decision making
  • Product Development Collaboration: Collaborate with Engineering to translate product vision into detailed technical requirements and specifications. Ensure the technical product development process aligns with the overall roadmap and business goals
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges to inform product strategy and development. Manage product pricing under the guidance of senior team members
  • Cross-functional engagement: Identify product development challenges and engage in cross-functional discussions to unblock roadblocks
  • Technical Documentation and Communication: Create and maintain comprehensive technical requirements for products and clearly articulate them to non-technical stakeholders

Core Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 0-5 years of experience in product management, management consulting, or a closely related role, with a focus on software or technology products
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle systems, integrated automotive technology stacks, and related concepts
  • Strong understanding of and interest in technical architecture, system design, and software development principles
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver technical responses to RFIs, RFQs, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, capable of effectively engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to travel, if required, including internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automotive industry, especially with ADAS and autonomous vehicle systems
  • Knowledge of automotive standards and protocols, such as ISO 26262, Functional Safety, ASPICE, Euro NCAP, and FMVSS
  • Experience with automotive software development cycles and testing methodologies
