Salt Lake County Adaptive Recreation: provides a variety of sports and social programs for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities of all ages and ability levels. In addition to recreational programs, we also provide inclusion services, which assist people with disabilities to be successful in mainstream programs with their peers. Our programs take place at a variety of locations throughout Salt Lake County, with a majority of programs taking place at Copperview Recreation Center in Midvale. The job assignment location will depend on where the program takes place and is subject to change. Perks include a free center membership at Copperview Recreation Center for employees, a rewarding job helping people with disabilities have fun and learn new skills, and an overall enjoyable work environment.

We are looking for motivated and reliable staff in the following areas:

  • Adaptive Sports
  • Adaptive Social Programs
  • Adaptive Aquatics
  • Inclusion

Due to the nature of some of these positions, the selected applicant must pass a required pre-employment background check in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements 

TEMPORARY POSITIONS:

An "At Will", FLSA non-exempt employee who is not eligible for County benefits and who must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.  

  • Must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.
  • Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy.
  • Are not considered merit employees.
  • Are "at will" employees who may be terminated for any reason, without notice, and without a pre-termination hearing.
