The Red Rock Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

As a Residential Advisor at Red Rock Job Corps Center, you will be at the forefront of creating a home away from home for our students. Your role involves building relationships, fostering a sense of community, and providing guidance and support in the residential setting.

Shifts Available

2nd:  Fridays thru Tuesdays 3:00 pm to 12:00 am; OFF Wednesdays & Thursdays

3rd:  Wednesdays 3:00 pm to 12:00 am; Thursdays thru Sundays 11:30 pm to 8:30 am; OFF Mondays & Tuesdays

Responsibilities:

  • Student Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and role model to students, providing guidance on personal development, goal setting, and decision-making.

  • Community Building: Foster a sense of community within the residential area by organizing and promoting inclusive activities, events, and group discussions.

  • Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to handle and respond to any emergency or crisis situations within the residential community, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.

  • Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts and interpersonal issues among students with empathy and professionalism. Encourage open communication and a positive living environment.

  • Residential Policies: Enforce and uphold residential policies and procedures, ensuring a safe, clean, and respectful living environment for all students.

  • Life Skills Development: Assist students in developing essential life skills, including time management, budgeting, and effective communication.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other Residential Advisors, academic staff, and support services to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to student success.

Qualifications & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one-year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid in-state Driver’s License is preferred.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
