Job description

PPE Warehouse Associate – 1st Shift

Location: Montgomery, AL

Pay: $16.00/hr (Increase to $20.00/hr upon direct hire after 6 months)

Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Overtime: Required as needed, including weekends

 

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented PPE Associates to support operations at the manufacturing facility in Montgomery, AL. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the facility's Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory by cleaning, inspecting, sorting, organizing, packaging, and distributing PPE items used throughout the plant. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing hands-on work in a manufacturing environment while ensuring PPE supplies remain clean, organized, and readily available for employees. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, sort, inspect, and organize PPE items including safety glasses, hard hats, face shields, hearing protection, gloves, safety vests, and other safety equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize reusable PPE according to company procedures and safety standards.
  • Package, label, and prepare PPE items for distribution to employees and departments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and notify supervision when stock replenishment is needed.
  • Organize PPE storage areas to ensure materials are properly labeled, stocked, and easily accessible.
  • Receive, unpack, and stock incoming PPE shipments.
  • Inspect PPE for damage, wear, or defects and remove unusable items from circulation.
  • Assist with inventory counts and inventory tracking activities.
  • Support facility housekeeping efforts within the PPE storage and distribution areas.
  • Maintain orderly workspaces through routine cleaning, sweeping, trash removal, and organization.
  • Transport PPE supplies and materials throughout the facility as needed.
  • Follow all OSHA, and site-specific safety procedures and requirements.
  • Perform additional warehouse, stocking, and support duties as assigned by supervision.

 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, janitorial, inventory, or general labor environments preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Basic computer and inventory tracking experience is a plus.
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience is helpful but not required.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive movements.
  • Ability to handle and organize large quantities of PPE and supplies.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed.

 

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with varying temperatures depending on season and production conditions.
  • Continuous movement throughout a large production plant.
  • Exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial equipment.
  • Frequent interaction with employees obtaining PPE supplies.
  • Fast-paced environment focused on safety, organization, and inventory accuracy.
