Job Description:

Orthopedic Clinic Medical AssistantFunctions as a member of the clinic patient care team performing clinical tasks and procedures to support the delivery of care. Provides administrative support to the clinic and to Orthopedic service line.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
  • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
  • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Medical Terminology
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certified Medical Assistant or obtain within 16 months of hire
  • Casting and Splinting Certification within two years of employment
  • College level education in secretarial sciences preferred
  • Completion of basic medical terminology preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • One (1) year recent medical assistant experience preferred
  • Recent Orthopedic Clinic experience preferred
