POSITION SUMMARY:

The Activities Assistant supports the implementation of engaging recreational, social, and therapeutic programming for residents in a skilled nursing environment. This role works closely with the Activities Director to plan, organize, and facilitate group and one-on-one activities that enhance residents’ quality of life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in planning and conducting daily activities including games, crafts, music, exercise programs, outings, and special events

Encourage resident participation while honoring individual preferences and abilities

Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who are unable or unwilling to attend group programming

Help decorate for holidays and themed events to maintain a vibrant, home-like environment

Document participation and resident response in accordance with facility policy

Transport residents safely to and from activities

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure programming supports resident goals
