Amber Grove Place is a Memory Care Community located in beautiful Chico, CA. At Amber Grove Place we have one thing in mind and that's to offer the BEST possible care and Life Enriching Activities to our residents which we do EVERYDAY!
What would a day in the life of an Activities Assistant look like you ask.
With general supervision you will work with our Activities Directors and other Activities Assistants to assist in providing an on-going program of activities for our residents with Dementia, Alzheimer's and MCI (mild cognitive impairment).
  • Work with other departments as they relate to the physical, emotional and social needs of the individual residents
  • Assists with and supports as needed Community volunteers, Scheduled Entertainers, Resident visitors, and other Employees
  • Assist with loading and unload residents onto our activities bus
  • Takes the lead in scheduled activities to keep residents minds, bodies and spirts functioning

Requirements
Job Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school education preferred, but not required
  • Prior Activities experience in senior care or child development preferred, not required
  • Enjoy working with seniors and a passion for enriching their lives
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
  • Health evaluation to ensure ability to perform job duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, co-workers, and the general public verbally and in writing.
  • Good attitude, ability to work a set schedule
