Job description

Northgate Resorts owns and manages the most awarded Camp-Resort portfolio in the nation. Our passion is creating family camping memories for our guests - memories that will last a lifetime! We don't do this as individuals, but as a passionate team that cares about making a difference in our guests' lives. We endeavor to be a highly effective, lean, and fast-moving organization.
The Recreation and Activities Supervisor (age 18+) is responsible for leading the daily directives of our recreation department. This role will work towards using recreation and activities to help the guests create memories with their families. It will be focused on fantastic customer service and providing a fun-filled environment for all ages. This is a SEASONAL, full-time position and reports to the Assistant General Manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administrative Duties
    • Assists with the research and identifying of crafts, activities, and events
    • Assists with the planning of themed weekly and daily activities
    • Assists with the ordering and maintaining of an inventory of recreation supplies and equipment
    • Reviews guest feedback with Guest Experience Manager and work to improve the recreation program
    • Completes required reports on a timely basis
    • Schedules staff, monitors payroll, and maintains compliance with a payroll budget
    • Conducts daily stand up meetings with recreation staff to prioritize the day and facilitates feedback from staff members
    • Participates in the recruitment process and selection of talent for the recreation and activities department
    • Participates in the development and execution of training programs for new hires as well as ongoing training for staff members
  • Daily Duties
    • Supervises and motivate a team of recreation staff
    • Provides coaching around performance and entertainment/customer engagement skills
    • Assists with personnel-related matters, including; recruitment and hiring, performance management, disciplinary action, training, etc.
    • Assist with maintaining an accurate event/activity schedule by updating the calendar and CampersApp
    • Participate in bringing the characters to life by becoming a character as needed, and by engaging staff to be characters and to be enthusiastic ambassadors of the brand
    • Lead daily recreational activities and be responsible for identifying areas of opportunity and new experiences to expand presence and impact with the staff in the resort (arrival/departure, waterpark, characters, activities, music, etc.)
    • Evaluates guest flow and make recommendations to improve operating hours
    • Be visible around the resort and engage with guests
    • Ensure activities and events start on time
    • Creates a fun environment for staff and guests to enjoy their vacations
    • Captures photos of activities and events and upload to Google Drive on time
    • Maintains cleanliness of recreational facilities and equipment
    • Decorates the park to the theme of the week/weekend
    • Monitors cash drawers and ensures cash handling procedures are followed, and charge to site transactions are paid in full
  • Other Essential Duties
    • Collaborates with park and home office departments
    • Coordinates and oversee various projects from start to finish
    • Responds to guest inquiries using the company's service recovery guidelines
    • Utilizes and learns the reservation system for daily planning
    • Participates in other projects and activities as assigned

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in organizing and executing activities or events required
  • Customer service, hospitality, or leadership experience preferred
