Job description

Seeking a new part time activities coordinator who is ready to have fun, get the residents engaged and out of their shells, and willing to try new things! Qualifications:-Must be 17 years or older-Must be in good health and properly immunized against infectious diseases, including measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, and diptheria.-Must provide written proof of recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of date of hire.-Must have current food handlers permit or obtain within two weeks.-Must be positive and encouraging and have the ability to motivate residents to participate in activities. Responsibilities:-Residents shall be encouraged to maintain and develop their fullest potential for independent living through participation in activity and recreational programs.-Will assist and work with volunteers and be able to utilize the assistance from volunteers.-Involve CNA's in assisting with group activities.-Maintain and have needed supplies for a variety of different activities.-Will contribute new ideas for the monthly activity calendar.- Must do activity calendar on the days scheduled to work.-Will ensure activities are offered to each resident as identified on the resident service plan.-Must participate in the required monthly inservices.-Maintain a good working relationship with all customers; including residents, family members, community, vendors, and Our House Assisted Living Staff.-May be asked to work different days or hours should a special activity/even that requires more activity assistance, fall on a day off.-Will provide 1:1 visits/interactions with residents that are not attending group activities.-Will not participate in gossip of any kind.-Will conduct self professionally. Universal precautions:Exposure to blood/bodily fluids is likely. Physical Requirements:Has ability to do occasional heavy lifting (up to 40 pounds).
