Now Hiring: Activities Assistant - On-Call
St. Francis Healthcare Center is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Activities Assistant to join our team on an On-Call basis. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors and helping create meaningful, engaging experiences that promote socialization, independence, and quality of life for our residents.
Position Details
Position: Activities Assistant
Facility: St. Francis Healthcare Center
Employment Type: On-Call
Pay Rate: $17.00-$18.58 per hour
Schedule: On-Call | As needed based on facility needs
Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational and therapeutic activities for residents
  • Lead or assist with individual and group activities, including games, crafts, music, exercise, social events, and other programs
  • Encourage resident participation while respecting individual interests, abilities, and preferences
  • Provide friendly and positive interaction with residents throughout activities
  • Assist residents with attending and participating in scheduled activities as appropriate
  • Help prepare activity areas, supplies, and equipment before and after programs
  • Support special events, celebrations, outings, and holiday programs
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming activity environment
  • Observe resident participation and communicate relevant observations to the Activities Director
  • Follow facility policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience working with seniors, in activities, recreation, healthcare, or long-term care is preferred
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and compassionate personality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative and able to develop engaging activities
  • Ability to work effectively with residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities
  • Dependable and flexible with availability
