Job description

Position Summary

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day logistics and warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused execution of all activities. This role provides leadership to hourly team members, coordinates workflow, monitors operational performance, and ensures compliance with company policies while delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers.

Reports to: Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily logistics operations, including customer service, freight handling, dispatch, receiving, shipping, and cross-dock activities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve productivity, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign work to ensure operational goals and customer commitments are consistently met.
  • Monitor workflow and labor utilization to maximize efficiency and operational performance.
  • Ensure the accuracy of operational data, inventory transactions, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and established operating procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring service expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Partner with customers to understand operational requirements and proactively resolve service issues.
  • Maintain organized warehouse and storage areas by utilizing effective space management and recommending process improvements.
  • Verify inbound shipments for accuracy, quality, and quantity.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions to improve operational results.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to increase efficiency, productivity, and service levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 1โ€“3 years of experience in logistics, distribution, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising employees in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in cross-dock, transportation, or distribution center operations.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
