Job description

db studios, located in Burlington Massachusetts is a privately owned full-service dance studio that provides exceptional quality in dance and a significant opportunity to advance your career. Responsibilities:
  • The position will teach lessons during studio hours of Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, & Saturday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. (only 5 days per week, schedule varies from teacher to teacher) / Summer Hours are 9-5pm
  • Direct existing students on their current dance plan and help define new student dance plans.
  • Follow and improve the specified syllabus.
  • Coordinate schedule and follow-up with students and parents of students.
  • Attend various dance competitions throughout the calendar year.
  • Plan and execute a holiday and end of year recital
  • Be inclusive to all customers of DB Studios, enhancing the community experience.
  • Ability to be on time for lessons and demonstrate consistency. "On-time" means to be prepared for lessons at the start time of the lesson.
  • Choreograph student routines. Ranges from solo to large group performances. 
  • Support other teachers and choreographers with improving students technique or choreography. 
  • Office administrative work - take payments, register students, return phone calls to parents with questions

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Candidates should have a strong work ethic.
  • Be open to feedback.
  • 5+ years of experience as a dance instructor OR formal dance degree from college or university.
  • Customer service or Sales experience a bonus
  • Experience with one or more styles of dance including: Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Competitive Dance, Acrobatic Arts, Hip-hop.
