Assistant Store Manager (ASM)

The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) supports the Store Manager in the daily operations of the retail location, including team leadership, customer experience, inventory management, and store performance. This role plays a key part in creating a positive shopping environment, driving sales, and maintaining the integrity of the Portland Gear brand.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations
  • Lead and manage a team of sales associates by setting goals, providing coaching, and delivering performance feedback
  • Assist with hiring, training, and retaining high-performing team members
  • Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer questions or concerns professionally and efficiently
  • Monitor sales performance and help implement strategies to improve revenue and profitability
  • Oversee inventory management, including product ordering, stock levels, and regular inventory counts
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained store environment
  • Execute and maintain visual merchandising standards and store displays
  • Implement and support loss prevention procedures
  • Support new business initiatives introduced by the company and Store Manager
