Job description

 QA QC Technician

Are you looking for an opportunity to move your career forward with an established industry leader? Join our team at Ceco Concrete Construction! Founded in 1912, Ceco has more than 100 years of experience serving the commercial construction industry as a client-centric, single source solution for concrete structures.

Culture

We are a team of engineers, managers, and builders who are down to earth and stand behind our word. We value respect and honesty, finding a better way, dirty boots, and a job well done. We trust our people to persevere and do their best for one another and for our clients. In return, we will make their time with us worthwhile. Most importantly, our people count on and believe in one another and know our success depends on our frontline workers building great projects that reflect our values and vision.

Role Overview

The position is ideal for someone with hands-on construction experience, inspection background, or technical education in architecture, engineering, or construction management who wants to grow into a specialized quality-focused role in concrete construction. Solid understanding of how concrete structures are built, the ability to spot errors, and strong communication skills to work effectively with field crews and project leadership.

**Important Note on Travel & Schedule:** This is **not** a heavy traveling position. Associates are typically assigned to a single project for its duration, providing schedule consistency and minimizing daily commutes across South Florida. Occasional flexibility may be needed between projects or for short-term critical coverage, but constant driving between distant sites is not typical.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections and observations of concrete formwork, reinforcing steel, post-tensioning, embeds, and placement activities.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements; verify field work against tolerances and quality standards.
  • Document observations, prepare inspection reports, punch lists, and non-conformance reports.
  • Work directly with foremen, superintendents, project managers, and third-party inspectors to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Help maintain company quality systems and project-specific quality documentation.
  • Walk active job sites daily, use layout/verification tools, and engage hands-on with field teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of quality processes on fast-paced concrete projects directly with teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Construction field experience, inspection experience, or technical education in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of construction means, methods, drawings, specifications, or field installation practices.
  • Ability to recognize when field conditions may not comply with drawings, specifications, tolerances, or quality expectations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills—comfortable interacting professionally with field personnel, project leadership, consultants, and trade partners.
  • Ability to accurately document observations and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Willingness to learn company quality systems, concrete construction standards (ACI, PTI, CRSI, etc.), and project-specific requirements.
  • Ability to work outdoors on active construction sites, walk projects, and engage directly with teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a threshold inspector, field inspector, form carpenter, ironworker, concrete finisher, or similar trade role.
  • Hands-on experience with cast-in-place concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, post-tensioning, layout, or concrete placement.
  • Familiarity with ACI, PTI, CRSI standards, building codes, or construction tolerances.
  • PTI certification, ACI certification, or willingness to obtain relevant certifications.
  • Experience using builders levels, rotary lasers, grade rods, total stations, or other layout/verification tools.
  • Prior QA/QC documentation experience (inspection reports, punch lists, non-compliance reports).

What We Can Offer You:

  • Inclusive Medical, Dental, Vision, Accident, and Illness insurance
  • Company paid Disability and Life insurance
  • Health Savings Account contribution of up to $1,000 per year
  • 401(k) retirement savings program with a company match
  • Employee Assistance Program including discounts with major vendors & products
  • Mental and physical wellness programs
  • Competitive time off package including vacation, sick, and holiday pay
  • Career advancement opportunities with a stable well-established organization
  • Tuition reimbursement program and access to LinkedIn Learning course and strong support for professional development and certifications (PTI, ACI, etc.)
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Hands-on role with direct impact on major South Florida concrete projects
  • A culture where people genuinely help each other grow and develop
  • Stable project assignments with a supportive team environment
