Achieve Behavioral information

What is an Achieve Behavioral specialist?

An Achieve Behavioral specialist is a professional who works with individuals, often children, to address behavioral challenges and support positive behavioral changes. They typically use evidence-based interventions, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), to help clients develop social, communication, and daily living skills. Achieve Behavioral specialists may work in homes, schools, or clinical settings and collaborate with families and educators to create personalized treatment plans. Their goal is to improve the quality of life for their clients by fostering independence and appropriate behaviors.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist at Achieve Behavioral, and why are they important?

To thrive as an ABA Therapist at Achieve Behavioral, you need a background in psychology or a related field, experience with behavior intervention, and often a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. Familiarity with ABA data collection software and tools such as Catalyst or CentralReach is typically required. Patience, strong communication skills, and compassion are important soft skills for building trust and ensuring effective interventions with clients and their families. These skills and qualifications are crucial for delivering evidence-based behavioral therapy that supports meaningful progress for individuals with autism and related disorders.

What are some common challenges faced by behavioral health professionals at Achieve Behavioral, and how can new team members prepare for them?

Behavioral health professionals at Achieve Behavioral often work with clients who have a wide range of needs and backgrounds, which can present challenges in tailoring treatment plans effectively. New team members may also find it demanding to manage a full caseload while maintaining detailed documentation and collaborating with other specialists. To prepare, candidates should focus on developing strong time-management skills, seek mentorship from experienced colleagues, and familiarize themselves with evidence-based practices. Regular team meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities at Achieve Behavioral help staff stay supported and up-to-date in the field.

Job description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting the behavioral needs of students at both the elementary and secondary levels. This role seeks a motivated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who thrives in dynamic educational settings and enjoys making a daily difference in students' lives. With immediate start available for the remainder of the school year-and strong potential for annual renewal and summer work-you'll play a key part in fostering positive behavioral outcomes in school environments.
Ideal Qualifications:

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required

  • Comfort and skill handling aggressive behaviors; CPI training or aggressive caseload experience strongly preferred, especially for the cross-campus role
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, behavior specialists, and related service staff
Responsibilities:
  • Support students in an elementary behavior support classroom, facilitating targeted interventions and positive behavioral supports
  • Assist on a cross-campus basis or in Life Skills classrooms with more intensive behavioral needs or aggressive behaviors
  • Collaborate with educational staff to implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Deliver consistent 1:1 support to help students achieve behavioral and academic goals
  • Record and monitor behavioral data, maintaining clear communication with the school's multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and structured environment for all students
Role Details:
  • Contract position, 7:15am - 3:30pm (hours may slightly vary)
  • Opportunity for renewal and extended summer work, enabling long-term career growth in behavioral support
