Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Assistant Catering Manager or Catering Manager, this position is primarily responsible for delivering food and setting up food tables for various functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Refers to function sheet for all necessary equipment, supplies, and food needed for the function.
  • Loads all equipment, supplies, and food in proper containers and places in truck for delivery.
  • Before leaving kitchen, call supervisor or check with office before leaving.
  • At function site, unloads all equipment, supplies, and food and sets up food tables, etc. as indicated on function sheet.
  • Clean "site" kitchen and put all equipment away.
  • After the function is finished, picks up all equipment, supplies and food containers loads into truck to return to Catering Kitchen.
  • Cleans all equipment used at the function and returns to proper places.
  • Returns all supplies neatly back into their proper places in the storeroom.
  • Makes sure all pots and pans and equipment is cleaned (in sink area), and that sink area is left clean.
  • May be required to be a replenisher or food handler at the function, which involves replacing foods in buffet line; keeps food line neat and clean in appearance.
  • Is responsible for checking trucks for all equipment and notifies manager of any damage or problems with vehicles.
  • Follows traffic laws of the State of Hawaii at all times.
  • Fills out the daily driver inspection report.
  • Fills gas in vans when necessary.
  • Responsible for checking all equipment to be sure in good working condition.
  • Assists all guests with a sincere smile and professionalism.
  • All drivers/helpers/replenishers must be in proper uniform before guests arrive at the function.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
  • May perform other duties required by the Catering Manager in support of a smooth operation reflecting the same moderate level of skill, knowledge and judgment.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Scheduling:
  • Meets assigned shift requirements.

Physical Ability:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional lifting of 20 to 30 pounds
  • Reaching/bending frequently
  • Good speech and hearing necessary for communicating with fellow employees, managers, and the public.

Mental Ability:
  • Action-oriented (exercising initiative to follow-up and follow through)
  • Detail-oriented
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language required

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
  • Must pass random drug screenings
  • Must have passed a TB test within 5 years of start date with skin test
  • Must have clean driver's abstract

Environmental Conditions:
  • Able to work in a variety of temperatures

Education:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
