Accounts Receivable Specialist

Los Angeles, CA | Hybrid

About the Opportunity

Search Group Solutions is partnering with a highly respected, established professional services firm in Downtown Los Angeles seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its growing Accounting & Finance team.

This is a permanent opportunity with an organization that has been successfully operating for more than 90 years. The firm offers excellent stability, strong benefits, multiple bonus opportunities, and a flexible hybrid work environment.

The position follows a three-day in-office / two-day remote schedule.

Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage client receivables with a strong emphasis on collections, analysis, and relationship management.

This is not simply a transactional collections position. The successful candidate will monitor outstanding receivables, identify trends and potential issues, and provide meaningful analytical information to internal stakeholders.

The position requires someone who can be persistent about collecting outstanding balances while maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients and internal business leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor outstanding accounts receivable balances.
  • Perform proactive follow-up on past-due accounts.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding outstanding invoices and payment status.
  • Research and resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
  • Review aging reports and identify collection trends, risks, and problem accounts.
  • Provide analytical reporting on collections and outstanding receivables to internal stakeholders.
  • Track collection activity and maintain accurate account notes.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and investigate outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate with billing and accounting teams to resolve invoice-related issues.
  • Assist with incoming payment research and proper application.
  • Prepare recurring AR and collection reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve collection processes and cash flow.
  • Support month-end activities and other Accounting & Finance projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Accounts Receivable and commercial collections experience.
  • Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong collections experience with the ability to maintain positive client relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with aging reports and AR data.
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Elite 3E or similar professional services accounting software is a plus.

A college degree is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

$75,000-$85,000 annually, depending on experience.

The organization also offers:

  • Multiple annual bonus opportunities
  • Profit sharing
  • Generous 401(k) employer contribution
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Hybrid work flexibility
  • Long-term career growth
Why Join?

This organization combines the stability of a firm with more than 90 years of history with a growing and evolving Accounting & Finance operation.

Employees benefit from strong retirement benefits, bonus opportunities, hybrid flexibility, an established finance team, and a culture that values long-term employees and recognizes their contributions.

For an AR professional who enjoys more than simply making collection calls, this position provides the opportunity to combine collections, analysis, problem-solving, and stakeholder interaction in a highly professional environment.

Location & Schedule

Downtown Los Angeles, CA

Hybrid: 3 days in office | 2 days remote
