Job description

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join a growing team in a fully onsite contract-to-permanent role. This position offers the chance to contribute to day-to-day accounting and costing activities within a company that combines the stability of a larger organization with a close-knit, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with numbers and data, and confident using Excel to support accurate financial processing and reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Support accounting and costing operations by maintaining accurate financial and product cost information in internal systems.
• Review invoices, purchase orders, and related documentation to ensure details are coded correctly and entered with precision.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including processing transactions and resolving discrepancies when needed.
• Analyze part pricing, labor inputs, and other cost components to help determine product cost after invoices are received.
• Use Excel tools such as formulas, lookup functions, and conditional formatting to organize data and identify trends or inconsistencies.
• Perform bank reconciliations and help verify that records align across accounting documentation and system reports.
• Work independently in a paperless environment while keeping financial records organized, up to date, and easy to retrieve.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership and other internal partners to support ongoing reporting, data review, and process accuracy.• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas, lookup functions, and conditional formatting.
• Solid attention to detail and the ability to manage changing numerical data with accuracy.
• Understanding of basic accounting concepts, including purchase orders, invoice processing, and cost tracking.
• Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, or invoice coding is preferred.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting software is helpful, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
