Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Level 3 Accountant to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will report to the Financial Controller and support financial and accounting activities. This position is located on site in St Rose, La with partial telework available after six months.

Essential Functions:

  • Preparing balance sheets, profit / loss statements, and consolidated financial reports
  • Analyzing and recording financial transaction ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Provide troubleshooting support and guidance
  • Miscellaneous accounts receivable reporting and resolution of payment issues
  • Perform analysis of unbilled balances
  • Support monthly cash collection and forecasting goals
  • Interface with internal and external customers
  • Support a robust and efficient month end close process
  • Manage bi-monthly payroll process

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of Accounting experience (9 years experience in lieu of degree requirement) OR a Master's Degree with 3 years of stated experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly in-depth knowledge and experience working in Excel
  • Ability to work on site in St Rose, La

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Government contracting experience
  • Experience leading a small team
  • Familiarity with GAAP, FAR, CAS, IFRS
  • Experience working in proprietary financial reporting systems


Primary Level Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
