South Shore Insurance (SSI) is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to support financial operations across our organization. This role plays a key part in keeping our accounting processes running smoothly—from receipting and payables to supporting month-end closing and stepping in where needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary Accountant for SSIA, including:
    • Receipting and applying incoming funds
    • Managing vendor payments
    • Assisting with month-end close processes
  • Support SSIU Accounts Receivable functions, including:
    • Processing Notices of Intent to Cancel (NOICs) and cancellations
    • Maintaining accurate accounts receivable records and follow-ups
  • Provide backup and support for key accounting functions, including:
    • Assisting with team responsibilities during absences
    • Supporting vendor payables during high-volume periods (approximately one week per month)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across financial processes


Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (strongly preferred)
  • Experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Open to recent graduates

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
  • Insurance or MGA experience is a plus but not required
