The Accountant I will support daily accounting operations within the oil and gas sector. This entry-level role provides the opportunity to gain broad experience across general accounting functions while working closely with internal departments. This position will assist in preparing financial data, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.

Responsibilities
-    Prepare and post journal entries related to general ledger activity, fixed assets, and accruals 
-    Assist in the monthly close process by compiling and analyzing financial data  
-    Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts  
-    Monitor and report on operational expenditures across various departments  
-    Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and in compliance with company policy  
-    Support audit processes by providing documentation and responding to inquiries  
-    Participate in process improvement initiatives and other projects as assigned by management  

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required  
-    0–2 years of accounting experience (internships or oil & gas industry experience preferred)  
-    Strong working knowledge of Excel and accounting software  
-    Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail  
-    Effective organizational and time management skills  
-    Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing  
-    Strong sense of accountability and willingness to learn
